How do I keep myself and my life Organized? -looking presentable -
Don't we all want an organized life? Being organized is an on going job; the best way to keep at it, is if you practice oder in your life, then organizing will become second nature. I will not elaborate in this topic this week. You can view ( Why hire a professional organizer and who needs one? ) to get more info.
As many of you know, I am also a dresser/stylist. That is part of my business keeping you organized. Being organized also has to do with 'self image'. I am not too crazy about looking hot, flaunting, or being vain, NO; but you don't have to be all that to be looking clean and presentable. You can look presentable even at home, not only when you step out the house. I am part of a 'meet up' group, that helps people with their self image. Men and women can always look to their best.
What's going on for you?
-going on a date?
Got a hot date? married couples should still go on dates by the way, keep the love alive. Look nice for the other person ( how you look can be embarrassing. It's not all about you, it's about them as well) . Dress appropriately to the occasion and the setting. Be on time, and plan for the day or night accordingly.
-dining out?
What does your wallet say? can you afford it? It's always best to make a home cook meal but if you're going out to eat, make sure you are ready for the bill. Dress appropriately depending where you go. Need a reservation? location? etc. Don't throw away that left over. Bring it home for your pet, children or keep it for a night when you have nothing in the fridge to eat. Nothing should go to waste.
-going to the movies?
That's fun to do once in a while. Movies, lives shows, etc. What does your wallet say? can you afford it? Dress appropriately depending where you go. I've seen people with pajamas at the theatre, not cool.
-street market / grocery store?
Some people feel that they can stroll out of bed and go to the grocery store with their moumou on. Well......I don't know about that. How about if you run into someone, like a co worker, employer or potential employer, a significant other? Your hair all over the place, night cakes in your eyes, unbrushed teeth, pajamas and slippers on, now what does that say about you? You'll have to run the other way to avoid them. Being at the grocery store is not a glamorous place to be but don't treat it like you just rolled out of bed, walked to your kitchen and open the fridge.
-at home?
Being at home, comfortable and relaxing is great! Sometimes, you don't want any visitors or be bothered by anything. There are those days, when everyone wants to see you. So, you need to be prepared. Have a clean house and an outfit handy just in case.
-office / work?
I am against general work dress codes and uniforms. I think it's some way discriminating. I feel that, your skills and ability to do the job has nothing to do with how you look. But, hey! that's just me, and I am not hiring anyone. lol. Your employer thinks differently. So, please dress nice, clean cloths, nice clean shoes, tamed hair, brush your teeth, take a shower, where your toiletries, etc. Be presentable. When I worked in an office, so many people kept complaining about this issues of lack of hygiene in others. Self image! Look good, feel good and be respected for it.
-corporate vacation or outing?
Careful not to let your hair down, for too long or not at all. Your co-workers and employers are watching. Everyone else may drink, smoke, take drugs or act a fool, but you're not them. You have your own image to worry about. Do what you do. Because when you get back to work the following week, you'll be remembered and judged by how you acted.
-private vacation?
You can let your hair down. It's your money and time. Have fun! But remember, you still have a reputation to uphold. If someone is interested in you and ask you what you do, and you were acting a fool, your image will be distorted by them, even if you are a great person. It's a small world. You may go to an other country and think you can act up, but there's always a connection. ( I went to Montreal for 10 days. When I came back home in MA, two of my friends where also in Montreal that week. Although we didn't plan on it or saw each other, we all went there at the same time. So, you never know)
-laundromat?
Don't flaunt those dirty laundry.
-walking your dog / exercising?
Remember to pick after your pet, and don't let them do their business on someone else's lawn. Someone is always watching. Don't walk your pet in your pajamas. Wear clean clothing when exercising, even though they get wet and dirty.
-In and out of your car?
Keep your car clean at all time, even when you haven't had someone in it for a very long time. Because when you do, you are not going to know it. Don't apologies for having a smelly or dirty car, it gives the other person the impression that you are a lier and BSing. If you cared for a neat car, you wouldn't need to be embarrassed and apologizing. So, just own up the fact that you keep your car dirty and leave it at that. A car can be a dwelling place for some. Don't leave trash ( have a plastic bag handy to take trash out, everyday ) and over load of stuff in your car for too long. If you're not using something, take it out. Clean, wipe, vacuum as needed or every week. Make it a habit to keep Organized, and it will become 2nd nature.
-your wore rob and make up?
I am not encouraging unneeded shopping sprees, but have the habit of buying nice, well made clothes. Pricey make up and clothes are usually the best and last longer. So, do your home work. No stained clothing, run down shoes, masky make up, dirty finger nails, dirty untamed hair, dirty bag (inside or out), etc. When you wear sandals, make sure your toes stay clean. I know it's hard to, but nothing is grosser than dirty, muddy toes in public. 1
-general hygiene....
You got the full picture. I don't judge people on how they look but most the world do. People usually treat you how you look or present yourself, so do your home work and look the part.

Why hire a professional organizer and who needs one?
Why hire a professional organizer? Do you think that you may need help in your home or office? (1)
Professional Organizers help individuals and businesses:
Accomplish more at work and at home -- your mind is clear, therefore more things can be done.
Leave a good impression -- an unorganized home or office can leave someone feeling ashamed about themselves and their space. Being on point will leave a good impression on the people who enter the space. They will tell about you in a good manner, will respect you and may even come back.
Meet important deadlines -- the only thing you'll have to worry about is your work or activities. No need to pay attention or get distracted by clutter when they're not there.
Finding things faster and easier -- since you now know where things are, you can find them and know their uses.
Gaining control of your life -- 'you should own your things and not let your things own you.' Take back control and stay organized.
Reducing clutter -- "Clutter" equals "Hoarder". Before you know it, you're there. So, keep track of your organizing and stay on top of your game.
Improving quality of life -- This is a most definitely the most important you get out of begin and staying organized. Try this, when you think of the word "clutter", what comes to mind? See......no need for me to say more.
Having a 'Stress Free' atmosphere -- you can relax and let the organizer do the job for you or learn with them. That way, you can keep organized along the way. Being stressed out will be the last thing to worry about, because you won't be.
Are you looking for a clutter and chaos free life?
If you’ve ever said to yourself, “I need to get this mess organized…but not right now,” " I can not afford a Professional Organizer," "I will wait a bit more," "I can do it myself," it's time to face reality. Any organizing job will get done faster and better if you hire a professional rather than trying to do it yourself. If you were organized, you wouldn't have those thoughts in the first place. Having an Organizer over can be fun, enjoyable and more productive. A skillful person helps lift the energy and makes the project much more enjoyable.
I get clients crying for help last minutes. Why wait for so long. Like I always say, "do today what you could do tomorrow, so tomorrow you can sit back in the sun and relax with a glass of lemon aid."
So, who needs to get Organized?
Everyone. It's a continuous battle to keep our clutter free life, so don't give in.
Advantages To Being and Staying Organized
-A clear head
- Having more free time to spend with yourself, family and friends
- Joy and Happiness
- Being able to locate important documents and things
- Relaxation
-More time to do the more important things in life
-Save money
- Higher self esteem and confidence
- Better life achievement
- Creativity
YOU DO want to stay organized and have a better life for yourself, then STOP making excuses.
"I don't have money," Think about where you put your money. Do you own brand names items, throw useful things or food away, go out to eat, drive, waste money, go on vacation, not caring to find a better paying job, buy things just because?" etc. Well......you do have money, so why not spend it on 'self improvement?'
When you hire a Professional Organizer, you'll get:
-clarity.
-confidence.
-energy to do the things you love.
-better managed time.
-beauty in your environment.
-control over the things that you own and your life.
-and you won't have to do it yourself.
You don’t have to do it alone. Organizing Made Simple was created just for you. Because we care for you, we are in this business. (2) (3)

The subject of Hoarding.
"Hoarding, hoarding, hoarding; at some point in our lives, we've done it or will do it. But what does the word mean?
It means to 'accumulate more than you need. Being afraid that you don't have enough. Not wanting to be alone, without having things around. (1).
I am not a psychiatrist or claim to be one ( although I studied psychology ) but most of us understand people suffering hardly from 'Hoarding". At some point in our lives, we all been there. We have the feeling of needing more, and not wanting to not having enough. That's not a bad thing at all but life should be balanced. How many shoes, bags, news paper, clothes, pets, food, money and other items that you think you need? Do you need more and more?
When you go out in town, do you have the urge to buy things even if you think you may not need them or that you already have the same item at home? Shopping sprees are GREAT! I take pleasure in shopping. Doesn't it feel so good..................... when you buy only things that you need? Yes, this one is hard. Everyone around us doing the same thing, so it's hard to balance that. But, that's where 'being organized' with your wallet comes to play. Don't give in to the idea that you need more and more. Where are you going to put it all? How often can you where those shoes or clothes? Be realistic. You may love your things, but they will never love you back.
Do you have things stored in the Attic, Garage, Basement or Storage space? Should you? If you haven't use these things for more than six months to a year, than you didn't really need them. Some things have exceptions of course. But your kids are off the college, or all grown up. You don't need the cradle, or twin bed, or their clothes, etc. 'Use your smarts'. Purge, purge, purge; now don't that feel better?! ' POSSESS THINGS, DON'T LET YOUR THINGS POSSESS YOU!'. When it's time to move, you'll thank your self that you didn't have so much.
Do you have a lot of food? Afraid to go hungry? Food goes bad, remember that. You can always buy food later on, even if you think differently. How about sharing the food that you have with others; with the homeless, a stranger, friend or family. Have dinner parties, etc. Think you have so much mouth and belly to hold all these food in. Think of people who don't have as much as you.
Do you hoard or save a lot of money, when you're in debt? Or having FEAR of spending the money that you have? That's a no no! Why having more money at the banks than you have in debt? You should't be in debt if you have money in the first place. Get rid of your debt. Have balance. (3) Take good care of yourself with the money that you have. Money can be a life saver, yes , but there's no need not to enjoy it before you die. Then, all that money you were saving and not enjoying will go to someone else, who will enjoy it and may even not appreciate it.
Do you like to accumulate trash ( 'a man's trash is an other man's treasure' ) and bring them home, because you're afraid that they will do in the land fill? The only way things don't get in the land fill is if everyone recycles, reduce, reuse and STOP buying more than they need. Not by hoarding things in your home. Your home shouldn't have more than the regular items that it needs. Example, no more than a set of dinning room tables, beds, couches, chairs, kitchen utensils, etc. You use your imagination. Saying that "I may one day need it" is very dangerous. Yes, you may need it one day, but when is that day? Or do you have more than the whole neighborhood? I bring things to my house from the curb, but I replace them with something else. One trash in, one or two trash out. Keeping the balance. If you don't pay attention to stuff that goes in and out, before you know it, you are hoarding. Your home will feel and look like a store. Do you really want that? (4)
Are you a good Samaritan, who loves to save animals, by bringing them home? Being a good Samaritan person is awesome, but you can still be a good Samaritan by having the pet controlled. Have people over who can take care of those pets for you. You can have a friend take care of some. Give some to strangers, etc. Do you really think you can take care of more than 3 animals? Be realistic. Some people with many pets, lose count and some of their pets end up dying, getting sick and fighting with each other. Is that what your idea of saving the animal is? The animals may be before off on their own or with someone else. Animals belong in the wild in the first place, so you can count on them to know that they can take care of themselves. No need to hoard them and have them suffer thinking that you're doing good. Your intention may be good for sure but share the load with someone else. Don't hoard animals.
Are you afraid to lose those precious memories by keeping them? Memories are in your head. Not in an item. People who are afraid to lose memories keep items of a person or things that reminded them something. Memories are in your head or heart. Not in items. It may be easier for you to cherish memories as they were giving to you; in a moment. You cherish that moment that you had, and that moment obviously is still with you, so there's no need to keep items around that you associate those moments with. Memories will always be with you and that person or animal will always be loved in your heart.
ETC.....
If you answer yes, to all those questions then that's where the danger or hoarding starts. Have someone who cares help you, minimize your buying or space. Organizing Made Simple does the job for you.
As I watch the TV show (2) "Hoarders", I learn and understand people more and more what they are going through. People in that deep end of hoarding, need help. Not merely from a psychologist, no; but from friends, family and even strangers. They need your support, love, understanding, compassion and not to forget, help them find help. Through psych help and getting an Organizer to get the job done with or for them. You may think that you're not a hoarder and not all of us are, but we may get there in life if we don't keep our 'things' in check. Have a real friend or Professional Organizer come over and give you an honest opinion. Than you may know for real if you're going that path or not.
I started Organizing Made Simple to help people keep their home or office in check. I love the smiles and cry of joy on their face after a job done. It makes me better at what I do and make them feel good. So I go home feeling happy that I made someone feeling happy. If you are or know someone who's hoarding things, it's not too late to get help. Don't be embarrassed or feel bad. It will be okay. Help is always there.

Earth day. Should I go 'Green'? well.....some green products don't work....
Earth day should be everyday. Should I go 'Green'? well.......... ( scratching head )
I know how you feel. But YES! you should go green. To some of you who don't know this "green" term yet, being "green" is being aware of your foot print. Leaving around your 'foot print' is not usually a good thing. It generally means that one leaves trash on the streets or in the park/forest, hoarders, use chemical products, not recycling product such as bottles, plastic, foil, water, etc. consumes more than one needs, or not begin aware or pay much attention to how your actions will impact the earth.
Don't get me wrong. I am not a tree hugger or a green cookie, but even if I were, it's not like it's a bad thing to be aware of how I impact my environment. This "green" subject divides people. I know, I know... I am not here to convince you or make you do something that you may not be into. I am just here to converse and ask your opinion. After all, we all are different beings and has the right to do what we please. I am not into 'global warming' either but I feel that if "we" as a people, keep on the direction of "green", the earth will remain a better, cleaning, nicer place to look at.
For example. Ask yourself, do I like siting in a dirty park? Do I like a littered neighborhood? Would I like to live next to a land fill? Would I like to see things floating in the water that I use? etc. You know what I am asking. You get it. Now that going or being green is the fab, there are no more excuses for anyone to say, 'I don't know how or where to recycle?' You can search online or go to your Town Hall to learn more about how you can contribute into recycling in your neighborhood. With todays technology, you can recycle almost about anything. Even if something is not recyclable, you can have someone else use it. Things like clothing, furniture, etc. Go to a second hand shop to donate your stuff or get money for it there or by selling them. Reusable items should NEVER go to waste. Most everything can be reused. Just use your imagination. Look at some 'third world' country. People there are so environmental. Let's copy them shall we. REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE. Why now!?! why not when I was growing up. But it's never too late.
Other ways to be green is by using earth friendly products, for food, household items, cleaning products, cosmetics, transportation, etc.
CLEANING PRODUCTS. I know a lot of "green cleaning products" out there don't work but some do. Do your home work and experience the benefit of using green products. They are better for your health when using them so often and better for the earth. You have the choice to wash your clothing in dirty chemicals or clean natural. Using non-natural or chemical products, put things on our bodies and we wash our food in it. Or you can make your own cleaning products. It's easy.
FOOD. You can use all natural or organic food. Does the word "cancer" ring any bell? All the chemical people keep putting in their bodies for years amount to the cause of illness and deaths. We are doing this to ourselves. No one else is to blame. We now know and have other alternative, so let's use them. I am personally Vegan and Organic. I am not "a freak" about it or impose things down people's throats. I let people know about what I know. Anyone can be organic. It's not that much pricey then you want to believe. In fact, if the population eat or used more natural to organic products, they wouldn't seem pricier. We have the power to change price. We are the consumer. Chemical products cost relatively the same or even more, it's depends where you buy your food. The cost of chemical food is even greater after cancer.
Make your pet's food. Buy organic or natural food for them. Too often people has to put their 'pets to sleep'. Well, have they ever conceder what their pets are eating? Make your own cat litter or buy natural ones.
Same with COSMETICS. Buy all natural to organic products. You are putting these things in and on your body. So not clean. People wonder where cancer comes from and why are they so sick. Well............
TRANSPORTATION. Now everyone is divided on that subject. I am not going to touch it too much. : ) 'Time is money and money makes the world turn.' Cars get us there quick. I personally don't drive or own a car. I am not against cars or other pollutee items such as air planes but there are some ways to be greener when using these things. Walk to your destination as much as possible, use public transportation, carpool with your friends, family, or neighbor. I know not everyone can afford those new hybrid but be creative. Remember when you last were a pedestrian? how it was so uncool to smell all that nasty air out there? Well...............
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. The tote bag is the plastic bag's cousin. The tote bag can be useful and green only when you use it. Hoarding tote bags is not being green. Having two or three is enough. Leave one in your car, one in your home and one with you. Why wasting money on totes and "saving the world from plastics" when you're not even using the tote. How about, stop buying the totes in the first place. They are a scam put on by whomever.... Getting a FREE tote bag or reusing that plastic bag is just fine. When you get enough plastic bag, recycle them to your nearest grocery store or liquor store.
You can definitely 'design on a dime'. Get your furniture from someone you know, free cycle or Craigslist, thrift shops, even on the side of the road. You can have a fabulous place with things that you didn't have to spend a dime on. This idea depends on someone's taste. Some people are not into second hand stuff. So then, be organize with your money. Buy cheap, on sale, negotiate your price.
Have a 'clothing swap party'. Invite people to come and exchange clothing or items. Sale and buy from yard sales. Donate to others or non-profits. Recycle books or donate to libraries, shops or to a friend. Give to the needy. We all may get there one day, so let's think about the less fortunate.
In truth, we can all contribute into a clean environment or dump the place. You choose.

How do you keep Organized?
How do you keep Organized? Let's share some ideas.
The first quote that comes to mind is "Everything has a place, and everything in it's place". While this statement may be true, not everything in it's place may be organized. A person who lives in clutter may even be organized ( not that I indorse clutter ). Being organized, is being able to find what you need, when you need it.
So life gets busy, stressful, not enough time in a day or knowing what to do in a day; here are some ideas that may be helpful.
Organizing around the home:
Life at home can be hectic especially if there are children living there. Wether you are single, partnered with someone, everyone can be organized. One just need a goal, some guidance, determination, and support. Even with a busy schedule, try not to panic. Going a normal pace, taking things in, is better than rushing through things. When you rush, you actually take more time than you may realize. A lot of things may not get done on top of that; because you were not taking the time to think things through. Therefor you forget what you needed to do, or what you need to have with you.
Wake up on time to do what is necessary. Make your bed in the morning, tidy up your bedroom, get cleaned up and do other important morning stuff. You wont need to run around the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom if you made your breakfast and lunch the night before. Line out the clothing that you are going to wear that day and other things that you need to bring with you. I know that some food need to be made fresh, so that's one of the reasons to wake up early.
Do not spend time, chatting on the phone or on other social networks when you need things done. Make a list of what you need to do in the house and outdoors for that day. Post that note somewhere very visible and make check marks as you go. Bring your errands to do list with you, and check as you go. Clean and put things back after every use, that way, you won't spend your relax time trying to find places for things. Tidy the couch, table, counters, bathroom, floors, etc right after use. Label things if needed; what they are and where they go. Have a filing cabinet, organize it appropriately.
Remember to stick to your goal. Do you need to be organized? Why? Get rid of unnecessary items in your house as you go. Give them away or just toss them. Extra toys, tote bags, summer sandals, paper bags, plastic bags, movies, CDs, pillows, clothes, shoes, plants, etc.
Do your laundry appropriately, separating colors and whites. Do your laundry when needed. Not when you are out of clothes to wear. Make sure all your clothes are pressed right after laundry time, so you won't need to run around in the morning trying to press your clothing. Prepare for the appropriate weather the night before, even you know that the 'Weather Man' lies. loll.
When you get home keep focus of the things that you need to do for the rest of the day, and the days to come. Do not get distracted by television ( TV is over rated anyway ), or video channels online. Keep filing out your to do list as you go and make them happen. It will save you time and headaches. If you have a family, make sure you give them time in your day. Family time is the most important, beside going to work and do things for them. Make time for the family while keeping focus. Have them participate in chores, errands, meetings, game nights, reading time, etc. The tasks for the home will be a less burden for you alone. Calendars, post its, clear plastic bans, storage spaces within the home ( I do not indorse renting out storage spaces), even a personal assistant, may be great assets on keeping Organized.
Organizing in the car:
A car can be a dwelling place for some. The same stuff I talked about above can be used to keep your car Organize. Don't leave trash ( have a plastic bag handy to take trash out, everyday ) and over load of stuff in your car for too long. If you're not using something, take it out. Clean, wipe, vacuum as needed or every week. Make it a habit to keep Organized, and it will become 2nd nature.
Organizing your office at work:
If you get clients, co-workers, and your boss in and out your office, it's a very good idea to keep your office neat. A cluttered area may give people bad thoughts of you and your professionalism. Flat mates' issues about cleaning the common spaces. How can I cope?
Flat mates' issues about cleaning the common spaces. How can I cope?
Many of us at some point had a house mate or a room mate. Some people have good luck finding
great house mates, while others don't. If you and your house mates are having issues around
keeping the flat clean, here are some tips that may help.
Sit down with the members of the house and discuss your needs.Communication is the key to a
healthy relationship. Listen to each other with respect even if you don't agree with something.
Making the other person feel special is a good way to get your need met as well. If everyone
do not agree with each other, try to find a common ground.
Some house mates need more special attention than others. If people in the flat do not remember
when and how to clean, a 'cleaning chart' attached on a wall or on the fridge with specifications
may help making the cleaning process easier. Who, what, where and when are essential in such
chart. You can also send out weekly email about cleaning. You can make a list of different areas
that need special attention such as the kitchen, bathroom, stair ways in winter time, etc. You can
have a designate folder, that has different location of the flat, when it should get clean, how, and
who will be in charge of such task.
And other way to keep a flat clean and neat is by making sure everyone do their part. Meaning
that people living in the house, cleans after them selves. Everyone should clean their own
dishes, wipe the bath room and kitchen counter, spray water on the shower wall after user, etc.
Preferable right after use. If someone forgets or too busy, remember to remind them of their
duties, but respectively. Each house mates should remember to stick to the plan chosen, and to
not take things personal. If another house mate speak to you about your chores not being done,
do not take things personal. Remember, respect, and communication.
If everything fells, you can discuss with your flat mates about having a cleaning service over to
clean and organize the flat every week or bi weekly. Organizing Made Simple, provides such
services. Contacts us today.
It happens sometimes, that house mates get reluctant do talk and participate in anything in a
flat. In such cases, it would be grand for you to tell your house mates that your needs to keep
a clean home are not being met. Or it would be wise to get new house mates or move to another
flat that will accommodate your needs.
All the same should apply to having a 'room mate'. You have less privacy and the space may be
more confined. Do your part when you expect your room mate to do his/hers. 'Walk the walk and
talk the talk.' Your room mate will follow your examples.
Living with strangers can be a challenge, but this is where your community skills come in.
Remember that "Home is where the heart is", so relax, have fun, play, chat with each other. Don't
turn chores into chaos. Cleaning a home should be fun and keeps the house in a happy state.
Support and talk to each other like family. After all that what it's all about.
Here are some websites that talk about house mate issues. Enjoy!

A 'Spring Cleaning' dilemma. To clean or not to clean, is there an option?
A 'Spring Cleaning' dilemma. To clean or not to clean, is there an option?
A lot of folks right now are experiencing this problem.
"Should I do a Spring Cleaning? Do I have time to clean
this year?"
They may ponder. Where does 'Spring Cleaning originate
from? ( Check out 1,2 below. ).
To my understanding growing up, my mother cleaned the
whole house from top to bottom. I was thought at a young
age to 'Spring Clean'. Consequently, till this day I Spring
Clean. Well....I do more than Spring Clean. I clean all the time,
year round. My home is so clean and free of debris that it would
float in the wind if it were a feather. I keep it simple. As I read
other articles about Spring Cleaning, what I thought it was
about, still remains. Winter ( if you're living in the north ) can be so
dreadful and cold, that most people wait till Spring comes to clean
their home or office. New Years are time for people to make
resolutions, so is Spring time. I do not wait for Spring to clean. Some
folks feel happier in Spring. Spring time gives us hope of what may
come. You shed out your skin, your winter clothes, fat, and your house.
Beside that Spring Cleaning has some Historic meaning behind it, I think
nowadays people make it more personal. Spring is the time to party, to
feel better about one self. To play sports outdoor, get in shape, invite
friends over, plant flowers, and shed out your home of the clutter and dirt.
As much as many people would want to Spring Clean, many of them don't feel like they have the time to
do so, or the motivation, the skills, or some people feel that their's nothing to clean about. Well....to that say,
unless you have had a maid in your home year round or have been doing it your self; you probably need a
Spring Cleaning. It is always a good practice to keep your place clean year round, or else you will pay the
consequences of Spring Cleaning which will take a whole lot of time and effort. Some people wait for New Years or Spring time
to make decisions because they don't want to do what they need to do in the first place. People like to give them
selves excuses to do things that don't matter, rather then taking the time to do things that they probably need to
do for their own well being. " I'll do this comes New Year." "I will wait for Spring to do this or that". The excuses need
to stop, NOW. If you want or need to do something, do it now. Put it down on your to do list, and check as you go.
Because the more you wait, the less that you will do or intend to do, and the more dirt and clutter will accumulate.
To Spring Clean is a good thing, but you don't need to wait until Spring to clean. I know it's easier to do it beginning
Spring because everyone else are in the spirit.
The benefits of Spring Cleaning:
- You will feel better about yourself and your home for the rest of the year.
- Now you can invite your friends and family over for some BBQ or a party.
- Your home will thank you.
- The stress and clutter feelings that you've been having, will be over.
- And so much more.......
The set backs:
- You will probably feel lonely and all stressed out.
- You will probably go out more often, not because it's beautiful outside, but because your place is an eye sore.
- You will probably give others excuses after excuses why they shouldn't come over to your place or office.
- You will probably not have the past over dinner at your place, or any other holidays.
- You will probably avoid coming home.
- You will probably front up the money to have someone else do it for you ( good for the cleaning service ).
- And many more that you know I didn't have to mention.
So, back to the question, "To clean or not to clean, is there an option?". To clean of course. You will not regret it.
There is always on option or time to do this or that. Just set your priorities. There's a difference between what you
want and what you need. Make a list of what is important for you and look around to see if it's true or not. Ask yourself,
if what is important to you is something that you need or want. Either or, do what is important. You may choose hanging
with your friends, partying, living on facebook, sleeping all day is more important than cleaning your place, but think of the
outcome. Patterns that we learn from childhood to our adulthood may result in positive outcomes or negative.
I am not a psychiatrist but this is ABCD things that we all know about. You don't have to clean all by yourself. Ask a friend,
neighbor, family or partner to help out. If everything fails, you can always ask else where. Contact Organizing Made Simple
today, for your next 'Spring Cleaning' adventure. You will thank us and yourself for it.
So, there you have it folks. Spring is great! But don't get out the house and forget what's in there. Remember
to not only live for the present, but to also live for the future. You de-clutter your self out today, you can hang out and have
fun without thinking about the state of your home, and have real fun stress free.

"How clean is too clean"? Is there such a thing?
Greetings readers!
Welcome to my first blogg.
A while back I was asked, "how clean is too clean"? I was a little taking back by that question. I think that question is rhetorical and personal. I don't think anyone should be told by another how clean they should be. Well don't get me wrong, I still think the word "clean " means what it really means.
Some might argue that, 'Well... I am clean but my friend is way too clean'? How can "clean" be way too clean? You are either clean or dirty, period. 1The meaning of "clean is to free from dirt, unsoiled, unstained, habitually free of dirt." Therefore if you are a clean person, then you are a clean person. Stating, ' I am not a clean freak, I'm somewhat clean' doesn't help anyone. Being clean doesn't have to do with being half clean, or being clean sometimes. You're either clean or you're not. It would seem that unclean people, like to call clean people names; like 'clean freak', 'weirdo', 'psycho on cleaning', 'neat freak', etc. Now the name calling is so rampant that people who are self acclaimed clean, are ashamed of it. How the table turns. I don't think there's anything wrong about being "clean" or " too clean" ( which there's isn't anything as too clean). So what if someone is a "clean freak" or "too neat".
The opposite of clean is "dirty", let's see what this word really means. 2 Soiled with dirt, foul, spreading or imparting dirt, obscene, unpleasant, hostile, insulting, etc. Wow!
I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to be perceived as such. No judgements here. Don't get me wrong. Being dirty can quickly lead to clutter, poor time management skills, stressful, unhealthy and overwhelming. People with a dirty home tend not to want people over their homes, they are usually ashamed of the situation.
Cleanness promotes health, a better home, a happy life, stress free, time management skills, respect from others, etc. While being afraid or ashamed to be seen as too clean, don't bring anyone anywhere. I never hear someone who is proud of being dirty, nor being a clean freak. Well.....I will the first to say, " I am proud to be a clean, and an organized person". I have nothing against anyone who is unclean or thinks that I am a clean freak. Being clean has made my life easier. I love having people over and live my life without guilt.
I hope that I shed some light to that question. Clean or not clean, you can only be who you are and not calling each other names. Everyone do what's best for them. If you need to know how to be FREE from 'dirt' please feel free to leave your comments or question.
Please note, the purpose of this article is not to bad mouth anyone or to promote name calling.
